September 1st...REALLY!
I am astonished that today marks the first day of September! August literally passed me by! Although I shouldn't be surprised since I was busy EVERY single weekend since August began.
Recap..
First Weekend- Ocracoke Trip with Chad's hometown gang! LOVED IT! Want to go back very soon, or as soon as they clean up from Irene! I really would like to take Reagan this time, I think she would just love the island and the fact that you get everywhere by golf cart or bikes! We had a ball though, very laid back. Took the fairy over Saturday morning, arrived, ate lunch at Howard's Pub, did some sightseeing, hung out on the docks, went to a snazzy dinner, then did the town up right and in bed by midnight! Our little motel was Aaaadorable too!
Midweek Trip- I took Reagan to the Marbles Museum in Raleigh for the day
Second Weekend- Girls getaway in Wilmington! My lovely ADPI sisters and I enjoyed a weekend of laughing our booties off, talking, sipping wine (LOTS), shopping, movie watching and dinner and dancing! We had an absolute blast! All agreed that we need to make this a tradition at least every few months! I LOVE these girls and every time we get together its like we've never been apart! That's the great thing about great friends..you always pick up right where you left off!
Third Weekend- North Myrtle Beach for a long weekend! We stayed at my uncle's condo with Hunter and Kristen. It was just what we needed, a carefree, no plans, relaxing few days! We beached it, cooked fun, yummy dinners and put our feet up! Reagan had so much fun and loves playing with her Uncle Hunter and Aunt Kristen! Only complaint is the few days we were there flew by!
2nd Midweek Trip to Raleigh- Britney Spears Concert!!
Last Weekend- The escape of Hurricane Irene and Charlotte baby shower! I had been planning to leave for Kristen and Hunter V's baby shower on Saturday all along, however, Irene changed our plans a bit and Reagan and I fled Greenville a day early to keep out of the hurricanes path. Chad stayed at home to man the house and take care of any damage as it happened while little bit and I went to Raleigh Friday night to say with my great friend Jennifer and her husband. Hurricane Irene may have not hit Raleigh or Charlotte very hard, but Hurricane Reagan was a category 5 ALL WEEKEND! I'm sure the Allen's will wait to have babies for some yrs to come! Saturday Reagan and I packed back up and drove to Lake Norman to stay with family and enjoyed a beautiful sunny day by the pool and lake.
Sunday marked Baby Shower Day! The shower was held and the most adorable (popular) bakery in NODA called Amelia's. We noshed on various yummy pastries, eclairs and coffee. Kristen, aka Mom-to-Be, looked radiant and glowing! It was so fun seeing all the goodies baby Hunter got! I cannot wait to meet and snuggle that sweet baby boy! Less than 10 wks to go!
Phew...are y'all tired from reading everything we've been doing cause I sure am! And its not over yet!!
Tomorrow we pack back up and head back to Charlotte for the ECU/SC football season opener! Kristen will have some more Mommy practice since she graciously offered to watch Reagan for us so Chad and I can enjoy a day of football, friends and food!
Lawdy!! I need to go lie down after writing about our crazy busy life! (Not to mention we still work Mon-Fri!) Gotta make a living to pay for all these fun trips!
Happy September Everyone! And GO PIRATES!!
