Well, it was sure close! I don't believe there was one dry soul in Dowdy Ficklen stadium yesterday, and I don't mean from rain....Everyone was drenched in sweat! Hugs were given with a mile distance between bodies!
Even though the Pirates had a victory, these were the stats I heard...
- the stadium reached 111 degrees at its highest
-many many people passed out (I personally saw one in the ladies bathroom:( )
-there were reportedly 2 heart attacks due to heat
and
-one woman went into labor
Leave it to East Carolina to host a 12noon game on Labor Day Weekend...the hottest time of the year in good ole' Greenville!
Don't get me wrong, fun was still had! Since the Pirates kicked off at noon, we did a brunch style tailgate including sausage and egg casserole, ham biscuits, sausage balls, mini muffins, chicken biscuits, hash brown casserole, monkey bread and fruit. And lets not forget Mimosas and Bloody Mary's!
I made it in the game till the beginning of the 4th quarter...I felt i was burning to a crisp and was tried of paying way too much $$ for bottled water, so I walked over to a friends tailgate and watched the Pirates bring home the win on their tailgate flat screen and several fans blowing on me:)
Friday night was also fun! We did our traditional FreeBoot Friday adventure. Reagan always has a ball down there and its fun for Mom and Dad as well! Afterwards Aunt Minnie (Amy!) and her boyfriend Hunter met us at the house to stay the night! Reagan was off the walls excited that Aunt Minnie here! We ate pizza, drank some wine and as always loved every second of being together! Sidebar...we are SOOOOOO glad that Amy is back in NC!!!!!! We are only an hour apart now and couldn't be happier!! We love spending time her her and Hunter! And they are both so great with Reagan!
We are continuing our Labor Day fun today and so thankful that we have a three day weekend to enjoy together as a family! What fun can we get into today??!!;)
