Back to the Grind

Today marks my last day of freedom! Aka..tomorrow I start back to work. Which is good! And bad:(

Good:
-I REALLY miss and need my paycheck back!!
-I work very well off routine. My days are all outa sorts when I'm not working with a set schedule. I know that sounds silly, but i thrive off my weekday play by plays. Makes me treasure my weekends more and take more advantage of the relaxed feeling.
-I like to be busy! Wake up, run, get ready, wake Reagan, get her ready, daycare dropoff, work work work, daycare pick up, grocery store, outside playtime, dinner, bath, inside playtime, baby bedtime, adult time, TV time...BED! Basically a day in our weekday lives! Every now now and then throw in a Bunco, JWA Meeting or something else random!
-I get the company car again..Ive missed that free gas! Ford Fusion this time.

BAD:
-Ive SO enjoyed my layed back schedule for this brief time. I take Reagan into daycare LATE and pick her up EARLY! We play all morning together, then she goes to "school" for a few hours,I pick her up and we hit the park, target or come home and take walks. We've had so much fun, bonding & lovie time!
-Ive been able to have many lunch dates with my bestest friends! When I'm working, I travel everyday and am hardly in town, so this has been a real treat! I will miss these!

Being a SAHM (stay at home MOM) has been a real treat this month, but it also reassures me that my decison to go back to work after Reagan was the best decision. I struggled with this a lot before and right after I gave birth. My Mom was always home with my brother and me and daycare was just something I wasn't comfortable with, probably because I didn't know enough about it. Reagan's school has been amazing! She is learning so much everyday! Vocabulary, sign language, singing time, dance moves (yes, they have "shake it out" time!) arts and crafts and so much more. Some woman want to stay home full time and I think that's great! It's just not for me. I need the best of both. I need to have the professional success in my life as well as being a Mommy. And I also want to show Reagan that women/Mommies can do anything in life they dream to do! Every family is different and I don't think that Working Mom vs SAHM is better than the other. You do what works for you and this works for us!

  1. I'm glad you've enjoyed this time :)! And I think you couldn't have said it better! Every family has to do what is best for them. I hope L and I get to see you and Reagan soon! Missed being a the Sip & See so much!

  2. Good luck heading back to work! Glad you got to have some "down" time with little miss! :) I agree about the whole working mommy thing. Lets be honest, we NEED my paycheck and being able to turn to my son and say, Mommy likes her job but LOVES you too will speak volumes someday. We are VERY fortunate that I only have to work on the weekends, but nonetheless it is still work. So good for you Carter! And a daily routine is a MUST in our hourse too. HaHa :)
