Perfect Timing

Just as I blogged a little over a week ago, Reagan got the chance to meet all 4 of her great-grandparents and as fate would have it, not a moment too soon. While the Lunsford/Stocks' families were vacationing at our usual Pawley's Island this past week we received the devastating call on our second night that our beloved "E" had just passed away. This being the first grandparent that I've lost it was truly heartbreaking. While my parents left that night and made the drive to Danville, VA to be with my Gram the kids stayed behind to pack up the condo and leave first thing the next morning.
The next six days were filled with sadness, tears, laughs, too much highly fattening food and fun stories about good ole' "E". The graveside service Thursday morning was beautiful and simple just as he would have wanted. I am left with so many great memories of my grandfather. I was after all his "little tute-tute" It is a memory that i will always hold dear to my heart of "E" meeting my sweet baby Reagan just one week before he left us. Gram told us after we left that weekend that E kept talking about that very sweet kiss he got from Reagan!
Everette Emory Carter...you will be greatly missed!
